This goes to show that a biased judge in India can go beyond even those laws established by India itself, in handing out heavy sentences. It also highlights why it is so important to fight these cases and appeal against such decisions otherwise these double standards will continue to be applied to Sikhs all over India.

- JUDGE DROPS CHARGES AGAINST 4 GURSIKH'S FOR SHOUTING 'KHALISTAN' SLOGAN -

In May 2013, Bhai Jaswinder Singh (pictured below) and his co-accused, were found guilty in the case of raising anti-national slogans. This so called 'crime' carries a maximum sentence of one year's imprisonment, yet these Gursikh's were given 13 months. An appeal was lodged with the help of SOPW and today the judge dropped the sentences given to Bhai Jasvinder Singh and his co-accused in relation to this this case.
